Center for the Way is a non-profit organization training “The Way” (Zen) through Zen (meditation), Martial arts, and Fine arts.
Please support the Center for the Way with donations according to financial ability.
We support training in Budo which teaches calmness in activity as opposed to zazen, a form of meditation practice which manifests as “still” sitting, and teaches calmness in sitting. Fine arts training (calligraphy) is artistic endeavor which creates the space for one’s true self to be expressed through art. Through sincere participation in these activities, the student can realize his/her own true self, which leads to the qualities:
calmness of spirit no matter what the circumstances;
Realization that every day is a fine day;
the ability to act spontaneously and without restraint;
the capacity to bring joy to those around;
the willingness to except any hardship in to suffer for the sake of others;
seeing things as they truly are;
and the willingness to act without concern for public recognition.
From this realization of true self springs the objective of have Great Compassion which leads the individual to work for the benefit of society
